As a journalist Fleming would usually compose his work on a typewriter so  handwritten notes, especially relating to James Bond, are exceptionally rare.

Only a few other examples of handwritten notes have appeared at acution, notably the Kemsley Newspapers, a few pages written about You Only Live Twice, and another working notebook with James Bond-related ideas, hence the estimate of £87,500.

The most valuable item available is Fleming's revised typescript of Diamonds are Forever, with many handwritten notations, available at £350,000.

There are a number of entry level pieces available including a first edition copy of Fleming's 'The Diamond Smugglers' available at £500.
