As such, it's no surprise that Liverpool memorabilia is highly sought after by collectors.

Here are 10 of the most valuable pieces of Liverpool football memorabilia sold at auction:

1. Steven Gerrard's UEFA Champions League Final Shirt (2005) - £280,000

This shirt was worn by Steven Gerrard during Liverpool's historic comeback in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan.

Gerrard scored one of Liverpool's goals and was named Man of the Match.

The shirt was sold at auction in 2019 for £280,000, making it the most expensive piece of Liverpool memorabilia ever sold.

2. Liverpool FC League Championship Trophy (1906) - £255,000 This is the original League Championship trophy won by Liverpool in the 1905-1906 season.

The trophy was sold at auction in 2010 for £255,000.

3. Robbie Fowler's Liverpool FC Shirt (1993) - £120,000 This is the shirt worn by Robbie Fowler during his debut season for Liverpool.

Fowler scored 18 goals in 36 league appearances that season, and the shirt was sold at auction in 2019 for £120,000.

4. Liverpool FC League Championship Medal (1901) - £85,000 This is the League Championship medal awarded to Liverpool player William Goldie in the 1900-1901 season.

Goldie scored four goals in the final three games of the season to help Liverpool secure the title. The medal was sold at auction in 2010 for £85,000.

5. Steven Gerrard's Liverpool FC Shirt (2006) - £60,000 This is the shirt worn by Steven Gerrard during Liverpool's FA Cup final victory over West Ham in 2006.

Gerrard scored two goals, including a stunning long-range effort, and was named Man of the Match. The shirt was sold at auction in 2017 for £60,000.

6. Kevin Keegan's Liverpool FC Shirt (1977) - £55,000 This is the shirt worn by Kevin Keegan during Liverpool's European Cup final victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in 1977.

Keegan scored Liverpool's second goal in the 3-1 win, and the shirt was sold at auction in 2018 for £55,000.

7. Liverpool FC League Championship Medal (1922) - £45,000 This is the League Championship medal awarded to Liverpool player Ephraim Longworth in the 1921-1922 season.

Longworth played every game of the season as Liverpool won the title. The medal was sold at auction in 2010 for £45,000.

8. Liverpool FC League Championship Medal (1947) - £32,500 This is the League Championship medal awarded to Liverpool player Willie Fagan in the 1946-1947 season.

Fagan scored 17 goals in 35 league appearances as Liverpool won the title. The medal was sold at auction in 2010 for £32,500.

9. Liverpool FC League Championship Medal (1923) - £30,000 This is the League Championship medal awarded to Liverpool player Tom Bromilow in the 1922-1923 season.

Bromilow played every game of the season as Liverpool won the title. The medal was sold at auction in 2010 for £30,000.

10. Liverpool FC League Championship Medal (1906) - £25,000 This is the League Championship medal awarded to Liverpool player John Cox.
