A rare Michael Jordan game-worn jersey is to be auctioned by Infinite Auctions in San Tan Valley, Arizona.
The jersey was worn by Jordan during game 3 on the 1997 Eastern Conference versus the Miami Heat.
Jordan scored 34 points, 8 rebounds and 1 steal where The Bulls beat The Heat by 98-74 on the way to Jordan's 5th NBA title.
The jersey has been obtained directly from the Chicago Bulls charity organization and is accompanied by a collection of authentication documents including a conclusive photo match letter of authenticity from RGU (Real Game Used), a letter of provenance from the Chicago Bulls, a MEARS letter of authenticity which gave the jersey an "A10" perfect game used grade, and a PSA letter for the authenticity of the autograph and inscription.
The jersey is expected to make $1,000,000 and an unconfirmed portion of funds raised will be donated to non-profit organisations to help feed homeless families in Chicago.
The record price paid for a Michael Jordan jersey remains the $1.38m paid on May 2021 at Heritage Auctions for his sophmore season jersey at The University of North Carolina, when he was named player of the year. The same jersey had previoulsy been sold for $63,500 in 1999.
