Ronald Reagan's College yearbook up for auction at Doyle New York with a $2,000 - $3,000 estimate.

The 1930 yearbook shows a picture of a freshman Reagan on page 51

The 1931 yearbook, which is still in its original binding, has been signed by Reagan on page 67, over the image of Regan and five others in football uniform.

Reagan has signed as his nickname 'Dutch' and dedicated to his room mate James R Harrison.

The future President writes:

"Best of luck & success to the roommate. Remembering the stock of glasses. Yours in the band. 'Dutch.'"

The yearbook also describes Reagan's football prowess in print:

"Reagan advanced from last year's second squad to the first team this year. He never gives up when the odds are against him, 'Dutch' is better this season and should be a mainstay next year."

Ronald Reagan memorabilia is hard to find and, apart from the odd signed photo, not much in the way of personal memorabilia has appeared at auction since Christie's auctioned the Private Collection of President and Mrs Ronald Reagan in September 2016 which realised a total $5,740,625.

Whilst signatures are desirable, it's the yearbook, and personal comments that makes this lot really interesting.

Celebrity yearbooks can go for big bucks at auction.

In November 2013 Bonhams sold an unsigned 1942 Marilyn Monroe yearbook for $1,187 as it was the only yearbook that featured Norma Jeane Baker, as the young Marilyn changed schools later in 1942 but did not appear in their yearbook and dropped out of school the following year.

An unsigned James Dean 1949 Fairmount High School yearbook, in which he is photographed several times, sold at auction for $2,500.

Whereas unsigned copies of John Wayne's 1925 Glendale Union High School yearbook have sold for over $2,000 a piece.

All the above examples were unsigned, So we can easily expect a signed Ronald Reagan yearbook with such personal comments sell for $5,000+
