The 1998 Scuderia Ferrari F300 Formula One car driven by Michael Schumacher will be auction by RM Sotheby's in Monterey from August 18-20 2022.
With an estimate of $8,000,000 to $10,000,000, the Rory Byrne designed car was driven to four victories by seven-time world champion Schumacher, and was acquired directly from Scudeira Ferrari in 1999.
Since 1999 the V-10 engined car has been left in its original state, has never been restored, or altered from its original as-raced condition.
As such it's now offered for direct sale to the public for the first time in its history.
Bearing chassis number 187 Shumacher's first victory in the car was at the Canadian Grand Prix, with the other three wins at the French, Britsh and finally the Italian Grand Prix.
With four wins, Chassis 187 is important in historical racing terms as the most successful of the three race-winning F300 examples raced by Ferrari.
We can't think of a finer piece of Michael Schumacher Formula One sports memorabilia.
In November 2019 the Ferrari chassis that Schumacher drove to win his 5th World Championship sold for $6,643,750 making it the second most valuable Schumacher F1 car after the $7,500,000 paid for his Ferrari F2001 in 2017.
We reckon the four victory F300 will top that.
