Chiswick Auctions Valentine's Day sale will feature a very rare Keith Moon signed photograph with an estimate of £800 - £1,200.
In 35 years I can probably count on one hand how many genuine signed photos i've seen ONLY featuring Ketih Moon.
Signed photos of the band The Who? Yes.
Just Keith? Rare. Largely because he died at just 32.
The last signed photo to sell was a small 3 inch x 3 inch black and white photo sold by Julien's in June 2020 for $1,600.
And that was a remarkably low price given that RR Auction had sold a Keith Moon autograph on a 5 inch x 3 inch card for $2,505 in April 2019.
The Chiswick offering is incredibly rare.
Chiswick are offering a 10 inch x 8 inch black and white photograph showing Moon in a recording studio, pensively leaning forward and wearing a white t-shirt.
The photo has been beautifully signed in black felt tip the lower right hand corner, on his shoulder, leaving an entirely free facial view.
The item is accompanied by a further five black and white (unsigned) photographs of Moon with his fellow band members Pete Townshend and John Entwistle.
The auction description states that the photo has been pre-approved by music memorabilia expert Roger Epperson.
As Keith Moon memorabilia goes, this is a not to be missed item.
