The motorbike, with frame number MI3845, is to be sold with no reserve.

It was last sold in the 1984 Steve McQueen Estate Auction at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Las Vegas, and has since passed through three owners before being purchased by the current seller 11 years ago.

The bike is described as being lovingly preserved and one of McQueen's favourite off-road rides.

McQueen owned various Swedish made Husvarnas with this frame MI3845 being his best known, and the one he retained until his death in November 1980. The bike is sold with all documentation from the time it was purchased, including the original registration document, and the 1984 auction paperwork.

Bonhams have a history of selling Steve McQueen motorcycles having sold McQueen's 1938 Triumph 500cc 5T Speed Twin for £118,278 against a £65,000 estimate, in 2016.

Bonhams also sold a 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross ridden by Steve McQueen in the On Any Sunday movie for $230,500 in October 2018.

High prices for Steve McQueen memorabilia aren't just limited to motorbikes.

In December 2020 one of the six Tag Heuer Monaco watches worn by McQueen in the Le Mans film sold for a record $2,208,000 at Philips Auction in New York.
