Oasis memorabilia and "Wonderwall guitars" to sell for £150,000

Three guitars played by Oasis musician Noel Gallagher are expected to sell for £150,000 - £250,000 at the upcoming 1,500 lot Propstore movie and music memorabilia auction.

The three guitars have been photo and video matched to show that Gallagher played all three during the recording of the band's Wonderwall music video, which was part of the '(What's the story) Morning Glory?' Album.

Wonderwall is especially signifcant as it was Oasis' largest selling single with 2.4million copies sold, the next best being 'Don't Look Back in Anger' with 1.8million copies sold.

It is also the first song, from any music act from the 1990's, to reach 1billion streams on Spotify.

The Celebrity Memorabilia Index has highlighted Oasis memorabilia as an area to follow with autographs by Noel and his brother Liam, up 4.44% and 7.27% respectively, at auction this year.

The three guitars are an Antoria Folk 698M, a Gibdosn J200, and a Hofner semi base, all three of which had been rented from the 'Beat About the Bush' musical hire company, specifically for the Wonderwall Video shoot in Woolwich, South London.

The guitars are accompanied by a letter of authenticy from Beat About the Bush.

For fans of Oasis memorabilia there is also a second chance to buy a pair of Noel Gallagher's John Lennon-style glasses that Noel wore during the filming of the 'Don't Look Back in Anger' music video.

The glasses were last sold at Ewbanks memorabilia auction in March 2017 and are now available with an estimate of £3,000 - £5,000.

Also with a £3,000 - £5,000 estimate is a set of 'Champagne Supernova' lyrics written by Noel Gallagher, presented in a black wooden frame.

The provenance states the lyrics were gifted to a member of the Oasis road crew after Noel had written them to aid him during rehearsals.

Possibly the star item of Oasis music memorabilia is a silver Gibson Les Paul guitar owned and used by Noel Gallagher.

This comes with a big £300,000 - £350,000 estimate which would guarantee it's place as the most expensive piece of Oasis memorabilai ever sold, by a significant margin.

This particular guitar was custom made for Noel by Gibson and described by Noel as "the best guitar in the world", and used by him to record 'Be Here Now', Oasis' third album.
