The 50th Grammy Awards were held in February 2008 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

A 24 year-old Amy didn't attend the Awards as she had just entered drug rehabilitation in London. Instead she appeared via satellite link wearing this black stretch cotton tube top and skirt designed by Tina Kalivas.

Winehouse won a then record 5 awards including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for "Rehab", becoming the first British woman to win 5 Grammy Awards and only the 5th woman of all time, after Lauryn Hill, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys and Beyonce.

The dress is sold with photographic authenticity showing Amy Winehouse wearing the dress, along with the auction lot card from it's previous sale.

Despite her iconic status very few pieces of Amy Winehouse memorabilia have ever appeared at auction.

The exception was a Juliens 837 lot sale in Los Angeles in November 2021 where an earlier worn tube top sold for $4,375.

The sale also included a small notebook with handwritten lyrics that sold for $6,300.

Two stage worn dresses sold for $46,875 and $11,250, whereas the dress Amy wore to the Mercury Awards sold for $50,000.

The star of the auction was the dress Amy wore for her final performance which sold for $243,200, over 15 times the estimated price.

The halter mini dress was worn on stage in Belgrade in Serbia, in June 2011 just a month prior to her death.
