The volleyball which is intentionally distressed to create Hanks' bloodied hand print as a face, including eyes, nose and mouth, has been professionally screen matched to the film..

It has an estimate of £60,000- £100,000 with bidding currently at £35,000.

The ball was last sold for £230,000 in November 2021.

Also included in the auction is a pocket watch given to Hank's character by his girlfriend at the start of the film. The pocket watch can be seen being worn by Hanks, as a necklace, when he finally leaves the island on his handmade raft.
