Tom Brady's Last Touchdown ball to sell for $25,000

The game-used ball thrown by Tom Brady for his last touchdown is to be auctioned by Lelands Auctions in New Jersey with a $25,000 starting bid.

In his last game before retiring, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Tom Brady threw a 55 yard touchdown pass against the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs.

The ball was caught by teamate Mike Evans who had a habit of tossing the ball into the crowd, which he did, and it was caught by a member of the public..

Nothing unusual about that you might think, but then Brady astounded everyone by announcing his retirement from football 10 days later - making this auction lot the last touchdown ball ever thrown by Tom Brady.

The touchdown against the Rams was also Brady's 86th playoff touchdown, extending his lead over Joe Montana who has 45

That makes the ball a serious piece of sports memorabilia and sure enough Leland's initially auctioned the ball in March 2022 for $518,000.

Winning bidder Ron Firman, a real estate developer from Miami, was delighted with his purchase until, just a few hours later, Brady announced he was "unretiring", in effect leaving Ron's purchase worthless.

But fair play to Lelands Auctions. They spoke to the original seller and it was agreed to void the sale, so Ron wasn't out of pocket.

The ball is now being offered with a $25,000 starting bid.

So at $25k the gambe is "Will Tom Brady score another touchdown pass?"

That's the gamble you'll make when bidding at $25,000.... for an item that last sold for $518,000 just 9 months ago.

Regardless, it's an interesting piece with a great story, and the ball has also been photo-matched by expertising company MeiGray.

Lelands also sold Tom Brady's first ever touchdown ball in 2021 for a massive $428,841. That ball had also been tossed into the crowd by the receiver.

At the time of writing Brady's last(?) touchdown ball had reached $28,940 with 10 days to run. You can follow the bidding here.

Do you reckon Ron Firman will be bidding?
